The Soul of Leadership

  • Westminster Abbey 34224 Dewdney Trunk Road Mission, BC, V2V 6Y4 Canada (map)

A weekend of teaching, prayer and contemplation at Westminster Abbey on the theology and spirituality of influence. Each participant will have a private room with ensuite, linens and five meals included. Cost is $200 CAD ($160 USD) per person which includes five meals and two nights in a private room with ensuite. Contact for more information.

This is both a “how to” and a “how come” investigation of leadership in business, not-for-profits and churches, in both large and small enterprises.  Leadership is understood as a relationship of influence in which goals are accomplished and followership is gained.  Building on a solid theological foundation, the professor and guests will explore dimensions of leadership, particularly focusing on the unique perspective gained from the Christian faith, including such virtues as faith, hope and love; critical perspectives as integrity and life-giving rhythms; and issues of success and failure.  Business and professional life often neglect the soul; this leads to a divided life.  Making the Monday connection is especially difficult in an environment of performance and success. This integrative course considers the leader as a whole person and business as a ministry.  Expected outcomes include: new working priorities; a Christian worldview; and integration of mind, heart and action.  The course will involve lectures, reading, guided prayer and personal reflection.

The Westminster Abbey location. This is a Benedictine monastery in Mission, BC and each participant will have a private room with an ensuite bath. There are a few double rooms and spouses are welcome. The pace of the course will be teaching followed by prayer and reflection.
